CAHR Conference

CAHR’s annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS is the main venue for HIV researchers in this country to present the results of their work and engage in vibrant knowledge exchange activities with their peers as well as with investigators in other disciplines and with the HIV/AIDS community.

At the 19th Annual CAHR Conference, members and friends of the HIV research community gathered in Saskatoon to exchange knowledge and celebrate a successful year in HIV research.  The consensus among the delegates was that the Conference was an outstanding success.   And as the attached photos, webcasts and abstracts show, the attendees enjoyed a very memorable event.

CAHR 2010

Thank you for joining us in 2010, from May 13 to 16, when the City of Saskatoon hosted the 19th Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research.

saskatoonCAHR chose the City of Saskatoon to host the 19th Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research, from May 13 to 16, 2010.  “The Province of Saskatchewan has Canada’s fastest growing rate of new HIV infections.  By holding the 2010 CAHR Conference there, CAHR hoped to focus greater attention on the changing geographic and demographic nature of HIV/AIDS in this country,” says Dr. Brian Conway.  Dr. Conway, who is co-Chairing the Conference with Dr. Kurt Williams, continues with,   “The sunny city of Saskatoon is Canada’s heartland, and we know that our 800+ scientists and community leaders will be inspired by the opportunity to present and discuss their work in this unique setting.”

The TCU Convention Centre, one of Western Canada’s finest conference facilities, was chosen to hold the upcoming conference.  Hotel accommodations were provided by The Hilton Hotel, which is across the street from the Conference Centre.

As with previous conferences, CAHR acknowledges the support of our pharmaceutical industry sponsors. The generous donations from companies such as Tibotec, Glaxo-Smith-Kline, Shire, Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Gilead, Merck Frosst, Schering-Plough, Abbott Laboratories and other, make it possible for CAHR to hold this annual conference.
