HIV and COVID-19: Clinical Considerations for Health Care Professionals in Canada PART 2

Date Aired: Tuesday, August 25, 2020
Hosted by: Canadian Association for HIV Research
Sponsored by:
Gilead

Given the rapidly evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been little research and clinical observation on the impact of the virus on HIV-positive people. As such, the Canadian Association for HIV Research (CAHR) hosted an educational webinar that featured a panel of infectious disease clinicians and pharmacists and highlighted clinical considerations when treating HIV-positive patients suffering (or at risk of contracting) COVID-19. This is the second webinar in the series and builds on the discussion that aired in April 2020.

The clinically focussed presentation (in English) touched upon the following areas:

  • Epidemiology update on the COVID-19 situation in Canada
  • Critical questions and considerations for clinicians in the HIV realm
  • Examples of treatment strategies being implemented across Canada
