The Canadian Association for HIV Research (CAHR) is pleased to announce the co-chairs for the 23rd Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research – CAHR 2014 – which will be held May 1-4, 2014 at the St. John’s Convention Centre in Newfoundland.   The Conference will be co-chaired by Drs. Michael Grant and Debbie Kelly, from Memorial University.  Over the coming month, the selection process to round out the volunteer members of the Conference Organizing Committee will be undertaken and a conference theme selected.

The annual CAHR conference is the premier gathering in Canada for those working in all disciplines of HIV/AIDS research, as well as policy makers, persons living with HIV and other individuals committed to ending the pandemic. It is a chance to assess where we are, evaluate recent scientific developments and lessons learned, and together chart a course forward.

The 2014 Conference program will once again present new scientific knowledge and offer many opportunities for structured dialogue on the major issues facing the global response to HIV.  A variety of sessions– from abstract-driven presentations to symposia, bridging and plenary sessions – will meet the needs of various participants.  Other related activities, including ancillary meetings and the new investigator workshop, will contribute to an exceptional opportunity for professional development and networking.

CAHR 2014 will be a tremendous opportunity for researchers and community members from coast to coast to share the latest scientific advances in the field, learn from one another’s expertise, and develop new ways to treat and prevent HIV.  CAHR looks forward to seeing you there.
