CAHR/CIHR 2011 Doctoral Schoarship recipients

CAHR is pleased to announce the names of the 2011 CAHR/CIHR Doctoral Scholarships in HIV Research. The recipients are:

  • Rodney Knight, UBC (Social Science category) “Young men and online STI/HIV testing services”
  • Katherine Muldoon, UBC (Epidemiology category) “HIV prevention among young women who exchange sex for survival in post-conflict Northern Uganda”
  • Brendan Osborne, U. of Toronto (Clinical Science category) “Clinical and immune correlates of isolated semen HIV shedding”
  • Peter Quashie, Jewish General Hospital in Montreal (Basic Science category) “Drug resistance of HIV to second generation integrase inhibitors”

These awards are in addition to the 2 Doctoral Studentships and 3 Master’s level scholarships that CAHR announced previously.

[Please note that CAHR is also launching a new Master’s level scholarship program for 2012. These awards as well will be co-sponsored by CIHR’s Small Health Organizations Partnership Program (SHOPP). A special Communiqué with that announcement will be sent out in late summer.]
